- At the end of the sixties some airliners operated bulb flights from Rotterdam airport. Sometimes up to 18 flights each day in the time period from medium April to the end of May. As shown on this photo Invicta Vickers 498 Viking 1A (G-AHOW) and Douglas C-54A Skymaster (G-ASPN) are waiting for there next flight back to England. - During the return flight from London Heathrow to Amsterdam Schiphol in the late afternoon of July 13th 2008, we had to wait in line for almost 25 minutes before we could takeoff. It was quite a traffic jam. There were more planes waiting to takeoff, but from our window we could only see an Airbus A321 and two Boeing 747s of Britisch Airways waiting for departure. - Boeing 737-8BK with registration PH-HSV was leased by transavia.com for the summer period of 2008. Originally this airplane is operated by Sun Country under the registration number N807SY. In 2008, July thirteenth I photographed this 737 performing a landing on the "Polderbaan" (runway 18R) of Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Since transavia.com only sell economy tickets and the aircraft is configured with both economy and business class seats the possibility existed to end up in luxury. The aircraft did service with transavia.com till October 2008. - In the year 1979 this flight went from Malaga to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. However the flight was delayed due to technical problems; something which wasn't rare with Martinair these days. Because of this 6 hour delay the intention was to perform this flight with a DC-10 from KLM, but eventually this Martinair aircraft appeared. This picture was taken just before entering the aircraft with a Fuji St605, which was an advanced camera for this time......... On this flight from Amsterdam Schiphol to Santa Cruz de La Palma one of the radios broke down during descending. As a result we where forced to land at Tenerife Sur, because there aren't any ground engineers on the aiport of La Palma. In case of a landing on La Palma with only one radio working the plane would never have gotten permission for depature. The repair of the radio took 1,5 hours, after which we got permission to resume our flight to La Palma. During my vacation on La Palma, one of the Canarian Islands, I stayed at the H10 Costa Salinas hotel. From my balcony I had a beautiful overview of Santa Cruz de La Palma Airport (SPC). Unfortunately for me, but where my neigthbors were thankful for, Santa Cruz isn't a busy airport, with only 20 flights each day. The airport has a runway of 2200 meters which provides enough lenght for a boeing 757/767 to land. One of the photos I have taken here is this departing Airbus A321 of Iberia. Despite of the bad weather conditions this photo was taken during a short visit to Frankfurt-Main in february of 1989. The aircraft started his life with Kuwait Airlines in '84. In '86 it was sold to PAN AM till '92 when it entered service with Delta Airlines. In '95 the aircraft was converted to a frighter for FedEx.
