- Channel Air Bridge - Rotterdam, Netherlands (+/- 1960) - Bristol 170 Mk 32 Super Freighter

- A long time ago this photo was taken on Rotterdam 'Zestienhoven' airport. In the sixties a postcard of this airplane appeared, when Channel Airways supported flights between Rotterdam and England with this type of cargo aircraft. As a child we often spotted this recognizable, two engined aircraft as it flew over Pendrecht. We called it the "cow plane", because the payload consisted regularly of livestock.

Airline: Channel Air Bridge (1960) Country: UK
40 passengers or 20 passengers with 3 cars
2 Bristol 734 engines
191 mph cruise
Span 108 feet
Length 74 feet

- transavia.com - Faro, Portugal (27th April 2009) - Boeing 737-83N - PH-HSS

- Although the PH-HSS looks brand new on the outside, the cabine revealed intensive usage over the past years. It also was obvious that the aircraft was leased, because of the Spanish/ English inscriptions. Besides the foreigh inscriptions there was also no standard videosystem as used by transavia.com available. For this reason the crew had to do all of the safety instructions by themselves. This procedure is very rare these days, so the passengers (encouraged by the purser) gave a small applause.

The captain seemed very happy with the flight. At last al the cockpits are the same...

- KLM - Schiphol, the Netherlands (1st March 2009) - PH-OFD - Fokker F-100 (F-28-0100)

- In 2008 KLM started to phase out their Fokker fleet. Although the Fokker 50 is the first aircraft to disappear in KLM-colorscheme, KLM has not yet decided which plane is next (likely to be a ATR-72 or Dash-8-Q400). This in contrary to the Fokker 100 for which already a successor has been chosen. This new aircraft is the Embraer ERJ-190. The first of this type was delivered on November, 10th of 2008 with registration PH-EZA. The Fokker 70 will be in service for a few more years.

- KLM - Schiphol, the Netherlands - PH-DBY - Douglas C-54E Skymaster

- Back in the fifties schools went once a year on a class-trip. Apparently Schiphol was a favourite place to go. As a proof for their families they always made a photo with a sign, which in this case is T0284. The students on this picture are from a school from 'Katendrecht' (Rotterdam) and are about 65 years of age in 2009. The aircraft is a Douglas C-54E Skymaster (DC-4) "Limburg" from KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines with registration PH-DBY.

In this crash, which occured at 10:31 local time, 9 people lost their lives and more then 80 where injured. During the investigation of the wreckage the Polderbaan was out of service. - transavia.com - Schiphol, the Netherlands - PH-HZR - Boeing 737-86N

- On May 24, 2006 this Boeing 737 was delivered new to transavia.com. The aircraft is performed with two CFMI CFM56-7B2 enigines and made its first flight on May 12, 2006. In his lifetime it was leased several times to Spicejet of India. First as VT-SPI from October 2006 till June 2007 and then from October 2007 till June 2008 under the registration VT-SPV. I photographed this airplane on July 13, 2008 performing a landing on 18R "Polderbaan" at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. As shown on the photo the aircraft is still wearing parts of the Spicejet colorscheme. After the busy summer period the aircraft entered service with Spicejet on October 28, 2008 for another winter.

- KLM - Heathrow, England - Boeing 737-8K2

- During the return flight from London Heathrow to Amsterdam Schiphol in the late afternoon of July 13th 2008, we had to wait in line for almost 25 minutes before we could takeoff. It was quite a traffic jam. There were more planes waiting to takeoff, but from our window we could only see an Airbus A321 and two Boeing 747s of Britisch Airways waiting for departure.

- transavia.com - Schiphol, the Netherlands - Boeing 737-8BK

- Boeing 737-8BK with registration PH-HSV was leased by transavia.com for the summer period of 2008. Originally this airplane is operated by Sun Country under the registration number N807SY. In 2008, July thirteenth I photographed this 737 performing a landing on the "Polderbaan" (runway 18R) of Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Since transavia.com only sell economy tickets and the aircraft is configured with both economy and business class seats the possibility existed to end up in luxury. The aircraft did service with transavia.com till October 2008.

- Martinair Holland - Malaga, Spain - DC-10-30CF

- In the year 1979 this flight went from Malaga to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. However the flight was delayed due to technical problems; something which wasn't rare with Martinair these days. Because of this 6 hour delay the intention was to perform this flight with a DC-10 from KLM, but eventually this Martinair aircraft appeared. This picture was taken just before entering the aircraft with a Fuji St605, which was an advanced camera for this time.........

- transavia.com - PH-HZI - Boeing 737-8K2

On this flight from Amsterdam Schiphol to Santa Cruz de La Palma one of the radios broke down during descending. As a result we where forced to land at Tenerife Sur, because there aren't any ground engineers on the aiport of La Palma. In case of a landing on La Palma with only one radio working the plane would never have gotten permission for depature. The repair of the radio took 1,5 hours, after which we got permission to resume our flight to La Palma.

- Iberia - EC-IJN - A321-212

During my vacation on La Palma, one of the Canarian Islands, I stayed at the H10 Costa Salinas hotel. From my balcony I had a beautiful overview of Santa Cruz de La Palma Airport (SPC). Unfortunately for me, but where my neigthbors were thankful for, Santa Cruz isn't a busy airport, with only 20 flights each day. The airport has a runway of 2200 meters which provides enough lenght for a boeing 757/767 to land. One of the photos I have taken here is this departing Airbus A321 of Iberia.
